New for 2008: All credit certificates, with the exception of those for pharmacists, will be
available on-site at this year's Annual Scientific Meeting. Attendees will receive information when
badges are picked up on how to obtain certificates on-site. Pharmacist certificates will be sent from
the University of Minnesota College of Pharmacy about 3-4 weeks after the Annual
Scientific Meeting.
CME Information
The Heart Failure Society of America is accredited by the Accreditation
Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing
medical education for physicians.
Scientific Program
The Heart Failure Society of America designates the Scientific
Program for a maximum of 19 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ and the Sunday Excellence
in Basic Science Session for a maximum of 2.75 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™.
Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their
participation in these activities.
The University of Minnesota College of Pharmacy is accredited by the Accreditation
Council for Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing pharmacy education.
This program has been planned in accordance with the ACPE’s Criteria for Quality.
The Universal Program Number is pending. The Scientific Program provides up to
19.0 hours of pharmacy continuing education credit, and the Sunday Excellence
in Basic Science Session provides up to 2.75 hours. Statements of credit will
be mailed within 4 weeks of the Annual Meeting by the University of Minnesota.
Nurses: This program has been approved by the American Association
of Critical Care Nurses (AACN) for 19.0 contact hours., Category CERP, File number 00014452.
Satellite Symposia
Credits will be provided for physicians, nurses, and pharmacists who attend satellite symposium
programs. Satellite symposia on Sunday each provide 2 hrs of credit, Monday and
Tuesday morning provide 1 hr credit each.
Badges will be automatically scanned when entering a session (including satellite programs).
This information will be used to identify attendance for CME credits and will be used
exclusively by the HFSA. No information will be sold or shared with anyone outside the
HFSA.
