HFSA Committee Descriptions & Call for Nominations
HFSA members are encouraged to either apply or nominate a colleague for
committee membership to help lead HFSA activities.
The following HFSA committees have openings September 2010:
If interested in being considered, please provide a
brief paragraph outlining experience and qualifications
that you feel qualifies you for committee work. If preferred,
you may identify which committee(s) you are interested in
serving on. In addition, curriculum vitae and a letter of
reference from an HFSA member is required. Deadline for September 2010 committee openings is April 24, 2010.
All applications will be reviewed by the Nominating Committee.
Individuals recommended will be brought to Council for review and
approval. Individuals selected will be notified in July 2010.
Only applications from current HFSA members will be considered.

HFSA Committees
- Advocacy Committee: Supporting policies that
improve the care and outcomes of patients with heart failure
and promote policies that will favor preventive programs.
- Education Committee: Develop, monitor and evaluate
HFSA’s overall educational programs; and review CME programs
submitted by organizations seeking endorsement from the HFSA.
- Guidelines/Clinical Positions Committee: Oversee the development
of guidelines for the management of patients with heart failure, develop HFSA’s
position on new diagnostic and therapeutic approaches to heart failure, and
update of existing HFSA heart failure guidelines.
- Nursing Committee: To increase the participation of
nurses and nurse practitioners in HFSA activities to help fulfill
the mission.
- Research Committee: Responsible for oversight and/or
development of research activities in the area of heart failure for the Society,
including evaluation of the heart failure grants to young investigator.
