About The Course
This expanded three-day CME course will provide an extensive summary of all aspects of heart failure including
epidemiology, causes of HF, pathophysiology, evaluation, management of chronic and acute HF, comorbidities,
cardiac surgery, heart transplant, mechanical circulatory support and PAH. Lectures will offer insight on how
to think through Board questions and prepare for the exam. The curriculum will also provide a comprehensive
and in-depth review for attendees not planning to take the ABIM Board exam.
The program includes a combination of didactic lectures and case based presentations with emphasis on guidelines,
evidence and standards of practice. Multiple-choice board-type questions and an Audio Response System will be
used to compare your answers with your peers and faculty experts.

To help with travel plans the course will begin with an afternoon session (2:00-6:30 PM), Thursday, September 27 and conclude at NOON on Sunday, September 30, 2012.

Credit Statement
The Heart Failure Society of America is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical
Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
The Heart Failure Society of America designates this live activity for a maximum
of 22.5 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM. Physicians should claim credit commensurate with
the extent of their participation in the activity.
ABIM Certification
To be eligible for ABIM Certification in Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology,
individual must be ABIM certified in CV Diseases and meet the standards set by the ABIM for specialists in
advanced heart failure and transplant cardiology.

To sit for the exam, those eligible must register at www.abim.org, March 1 - June 1, 2012 (late fee after May, 2012).
